I'm not sure why I did it, especially since the directions say we must wear a leotard, tights and ballet shoes to class, but...I signed up for Ballet I. It's a 12-week class and starts in September. The instructor is a male.

I'm excited!

Stay tuned for more updates.

They're a new addition to my exercise toys. They're similar to Lebert Equalizers and you can get a great workout with this total body strengthener. You can do:
  • push-ups
  • pull-ups
  • agility moves
  • use as resistance when doing squats
  • lunges
  • triceps dips
  • side dips
  • hip extensions
  • incorporate balance ball for additional fun

Our first attempt to paddle board. We were standing on the board within the first 10 minutes and  survived 1 1/2 hours! I'm pretty sure, I'll need some more practice before I attempt yoga on the board, but we will be back!

I am a late bloomer in the fitness world. At the age of 45 I received my group fitness instructor certification and two years later my health coaching certification.

I led my fomer employer's wellness program for 13 years and I teach fitness classes part-time for the local city recreation program.

I am certified to teach, Punk Rope, Kettlebell AMPD, Strong Women, Strong Women Healthy Hearts and enjoy teaching a combination of yoga/Pilates.

To date one of my proudest fitness moments occurred at the end of 2013.  In December 2012 I set a goal to run a 5k each month in 2013. I ran 11 5k's and climbed 47 flights of stairs in the Fight For Air Climb the remaining month.

As Dr. Kenneth Cooper, Cooper Institute says, "We do not stop exercising because we grow old - we grow old because we stop exercising."

    Keep moving!
    Be social!
    Stay strong!
    Eat well!
    Live long!
